Protection of the Slovakian-Ukrainian border
The Slovak-Ukrainian border is just under a hundred kilometres long, but its importance for the European Union is exceptionally high. It serves as the gateway to the Schengen area, meaning that anything crossing this border could end up in any country of the European Union. That also applies to dangerous chemical, biological, radioactive, and nuclear (CBRN) materials.
Ensuring the best possible protection of the Slovak-Ukraine border against illegal handling of dangerous CBRN materials is in fact the goal of the Triglav project. The task of Slovak and Ukrainian security forces is to prevent illegal handling of CBRN materials and thus protect the lives and health of citizens of the European Union. This endeavour requires close cooperation of Slovak and Ukrainian specialists, professional equipment but also continuous education and training of CBRN security experts. These requirements within the Triglav project are supported by the partnership with Norwegian experts.
Together we protect.
